Linear Detectors
Linear smoke detectors (beam) for large open areas — warehouses, hangars, airports, and shopping centers — integrated into the Firebee panel.
Overview
Firebee integrates linear smoke detectors to its central unit through the LRRIL integration repeater, allowing third-party linear detectors to be supervised by the Firebee central unit and have their signals passed to the SDAI wireless.
Linear Smoke Detectors are fire safety devices designed to monitor large open areas, such as warehouses, storage facilities, airports, and shopping centers. Unlike traditional point detectors that monitor a single point in the environment, linear detectors operate along a light beam that extends between a transmitter and a receiver, or between a transmitter/reflector and a single receiver, covering a large area. This makes them ideal for spacious locations with high ceilings, where the installation of multiple point detectors would be impractical or costly.
The operating principle of linear detectors is based on the interruption or attenuation of the light beam emitted by the transmitter. When smoke particles enter the detection line, they reduce the light beam intensity, and the device interprets this change as a possible fire signal. Depending on the system configuration, the detector can adjust its sensitivity to minimize false alarms, ensuring accurate and rapid detection even in areas with high traffic or temperature variation.
In addition to their high efficiency in covering large spaces, Linear Detectors are easy to install and maintain, as in many cases a single device can monitor an area that would require dozens of point detectors. This reduces installation and maintenance costs while providing a robust solution for early fire detection in challenging environments. These detectors are widely used in industries, logistics centers, and other locations where fire protection needs to be guaranteed across large area volumes.
